Nigeria’s livelihoods index paints a dire picture, with the country ranking 110th out of 127 in the Global Hunger Index. Fuel subsidy removal, volatile exchange rates, and rising inflation have exacerbated the crisis, limiting access to income and expended suffering of ordinary Nigerians who struggle to meets their ends meat.

In response to this crisis, the Nigeria Youth Stakeholders Conversation 5.0 (NYSConversation 5.0) will convene stakeholders from various sectors to explore strategies for economic revitalization and improved livelihoods of ordinary Nigerians.

Scheduled to take place on 30th April 2025, FCT-Abuja, NYSConversation 5.0 will bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the theme “Purchasing Power of Naira: Strategies for Economic Revitalization.”

According to the organizers, the conversation aims to tackle the challenges facing Nigeria’s livelihoods head-on, focusing on innovative solutions to restore the purchasing power of the Naira and revitalize the economy.

“The current livelihoods crisis in Nigeria demands urgent attention and collective action,” said Hon. Blessing Oyefeso, the Convener “We believe that by bringing together experts from Economic sectors, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders, we can develop effective strategies to address the challenges facing our economy and improve the livelihoods of ordinary Nigerians.”
