The Nigeria Youths in Politics, alongside a coalition of youth leaders across the country, has strongly condemned the intimidation and harassment of young aspirants who have purchased nomination forms in various political parties ahead of upcoming elections.

Speaking during an emergency press briefing held on May 15, 2026, at No. 22 Monrovia Street, Wuse II, Abuja, the group described the actions as a direct attack on youth political participation and democratic inclusion.

The group cited documented cases including that of 30-year-old House of Representatives aspirant, Hammud Sadis Buba, and 32-year-old House of Assembly aspirant, Ibiki Cyril Chidozie, who were allegedly subjected to intimidation and political suppression after purchasing nomination forms.

The group called on political parties, security agencies, and relevant democratic institutions to immediately protect the rights of young aspirants and uphold the principles of the Youth Quota In Parliament movement.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to defending youth inclusion in governance and resisting every attempt to silence emerging young leaders in Nigeria.
